The MBA Media & Entertainment Conference (“MEC”) brings together the nation’s top MBA students and media, entertainment and related companies. The aim of the conference is to foster informative dialogue about and enhance networking within the film, music, broadcast and cable television, sports and publishing industries.

Now in its third year, the Conference is once again being jointly organized by MBA students from:

Over 600 students and alumni from both US and international graduate business programs are expected to attend the one-day event, which will include keynote addresses, panels debating industry issues, a networking lunch and cocktail party.

The Kimmel Center for Student Life at NYU

The center is located on the South side of Washington Square Park (one block West of The Stern School of Business) in the heart of the village (near both East and West side subway lines). The center provides a place for many of the events that comprise the University's rich and varied campus life: meetings and activities of the over 250 student clubs at NYU; lectures and conferences featuring national and international leaders; career information sessions and recruitment fairs; and events for alumni and parents.

Micheal J. Wolf
Director and Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company's Global Media & Enterteinment Practice

Michael J. Wolf is Director and Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company’s Global Media & Entertainment Practice and the leading consultant to the world’s top media, information, communications, and entertainment companies.

Mr. Wolf is a business strategist whose focus is on helping senior management solve their most important and complex business problems, which will define the future of their companies and their industries. His clients have included many of the top global media conglomerates which are the leaders in such segments as: filmed entertainment, television, music, broadband communications, consumer magazines, home video, newspapers, business information, sports, video games, on-line, DBS, theatrical exhibition, theme parks, and book publishing.

He is the author of The Entertainment Economy: How Mega Media Forces Are Transforming Our Lives (Random House) and has written extensively for leading business publications.

A graduate of Columbia University, Mr. Wolf lives in New York with his wife and three children. He is a member of the boards of P.E.N.C.I.L., The Educational Broadcasting Corporation (WNET- New York’s Public Television Station), and the International Radio and Television Society.

Donald Graham
Chairman of the Board and CEO of The Washington Post Company

 Donald E. Graham is chief executive officer and chairman of the board of The Washington Post Company. He is also chairman of The Washington Post newspaper. Graham was publisher of The Washington Post from January 1979 to September 2000.

Graham was born on April 22, 1945 in Baltimore, a son of Philip L. and Katharine Meyer Graham. His father was publisher of The Washington Post from 1946 until 1961. Eugene Meyer, Graham's grandfather, purchased The Washington Post at a bankruptcy sale in 1933.

After graduating in 1966 from Harvard College, where he was president of the Harvard Crimson, Graham was drafted and served as an information specialist with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He was a patrolman with the Washington Metropolitan Police Department from January 1969 to June 1970. Graham joined The Washington Post newspaper in 1971 as a reporter and subsequently held several news and business positions at the newspaper and at Newsweek. He was named executive vice president and general manager of the newspaper in 1976.

He was elected a director of The Washington Post Company in 1974 and served as president from May 1991 to September 1993.

Graham is a trustee of the Federal City Council in Washington, DC and president of the District of Columbia College Access Program.

Steven Rattner
Managing Principal and Co-founder, Quadrangle Group LLC

 Steve Rattner is Managing Principal at Quadrangle Group LLC, a private investment firm that invests in mature and high-growth media and communications companies in the United States and Europe through a $1.08 billion private equity fund. Prior to founding Quadrangle, Mr. Rattner was Deputy Chairman and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Lazard. Mr. Rattner founded Lazard's Media and Communications Group and has been involved in many of the largest and most important transactions in these industries. Mr. Rattner, who joined Lazard in 1989 as a General Partner, was previously a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he also founded the Communications Group. He serves on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations and writes regularly on economic and public policy matters. Mr. Rattner holds a B.A. with honors in economics from Brown University and was awarded the Harvey Baker Fellowship.
