Since the spring semester of 2001, Nancy has been an Associate Adjunct Professor at Stern in the EMT program. She teaches two classes- Mergers and Acquisitions in the Entertainment Industry, an MBA course with Tom Dooley, the former Vice-Chairman of Viacom, and Film and Television Distribution and Finance, an undergraduate course.
From 1981 until 2000 Nancy was VP, Associate General Counsel/Finance of Viacom. Nancy was Chief Counsel to the finance and treasury departments, acting as lead finance advisor on acquisitions and dispositions, and structuring and advising on bank, public, film and other structured financings. Some major transactions included: Viacom/CBS Merger, Tender Offer and Merger - Spelling Entertainment, Blockbuster Inc. - $1.9 Billion bank financing and IPO, $4.6 Billion sale of Simon & Schuster's educational, professional and reference publishing businesses, Tax-free spin off of Cable Division, Domestic and international production financing for Paramount, MTV Networks and Showtime, and Financing of the acquisitions of Paramount and Blockbuster.
Prior to Viacom, Nancy was Assistant General Counsel of Lehigh Valley Industries. Nancy began her legal career as a staff attorney at the Bureau of Competition, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, D.C.
Nancy earned her law degree from NYU in 1972 and her BA in Economics from Tufts University in 1969.
